Disney will not celebrate Epcot’s 25th.

I received my AllEarsNet.com weekly newsletter in my email’s inbox this morning, and needless to say…the news is not good.  Epcot’s Vice President Brad Rex, the same guy whose MouseStation interview we commented on earlier this week, is the source behind this little tidbit…

Rex said that although 2007 marks Epcot’s 25th anniversary, there was no big celebration planned, although there would be private observances behind-the-scenes for cast members.

I think we all knew by now that this was the case.  We have heard very little in the rumor mill about things being done to ready Epcot for its anniversary.  But it is still disappointing and somewhat aggravating to hear it from a Disney suit.  I’ve talked in length about this subject, and I have gone on and on about the need to have a celebration like this, so there is no need to do the same here.  Disney’s dropped the ball and let us down, plain and simple.
