Rumors of sweeping changes to Disney-MGM Studios
Screamscape.com reported a very interesting rumor yesterday regarding the future of the Disney-MGM Studios. Beside the often reported name change to Disney-Pixar Studios, the rumor says changes may be far more sweeping than just a simple re-branding…
…management is talking about possible bigger “Placemaking” changes as well as a possible focus change for select areas of the park to really change the overall feel in areas that the currently lacking.
It appears from this information, Imagineering may be finally admitting the downfalls at this park were a result of budget cuts in the early 1990’s. The Studios park was supposed to be much more than it turned out to be and many terrific plans were left on the drawing board. What resulted was a jumbled design and a park that clearly lacks the type of theme-continuity Disney is so famous for.
So what could be done? What type of changes can be made that would essentially re-launch the Studios into an improved immersive experience? To be honest, this is the only source of this rumor I have found, and I can not confirm it anywhere else. But the idea is a welcome one. What would you like to see changed?
