Do whatever you want -- just have it finished by December 2008, the month of my annual trip.

I agree with Disney Dude when it comes to the name. I think changing it to Space Mountain 2.0 makes it sound more like software than a thrill ride. Perhaps for marketing purposes using it would be fine, but I would not want the name to permanently change

Yay! Bring on the updates! I do hope that this rumor turns into news . . . it would be very good news, indeed.

Why does the name have to change? with everything getting updated, eventually 2.0 will become the new 1.0. This sounds like a cool change, but what's wrong with just Space Mountain?

Definitely a wait and see on this one. I'd welcome updated effects and such, but there were similar rumors of big changes for DL's Space Mountain when it was rebuilt, and in the end, the changes weren't exactly revolutionary.

But yes, plussing it up big time while still keeping it a relatively family-friendly coaster would be great. I'd be behind that idea big-time.
