I really like this resort and their gym is the best on Disney property. I don't really mind that they don't have a lot of restaurant options considering DTD is just a short walk away. My wife & I love SSR. The proximity to DTD can't be beat. And the grounds, as mentioned, are beautiful (much more natural beauty than at OKW, a similar huge DVC resort, IMO). The food court is lacking and what is offered doesn't appeal to me. But, we don't use resort food courts that often anyway. I can't speak on the food quality at the Turf Club, as we have yet to dine there. We do have plans to try it out in October, so we'll see. I think SSR gets abad rep, for some reason, but personally, I'd much rather stay there than the bland OKW. Great review of my home resort!
