Changing a restaurant over is not going to make AK a full day park for those who do not already consider it as such. The issue is the attractions, shows, etc. If they think otherwise, they are once again kidding themselves.

"Am I making too much of this?"

No, I think I'm voting "suck" on this decision as well.

Because the Tusker House doesn't do as well as the other two, it is a strictly buisness decision. I think the large Pizzafari bulding would have been a better choice though.

Why couldn't they change the lame Pizzafari and leave a good place alone? They just keep their mitts off the Flame Tree

It's really a necessary change for a park that already has a ton of counterservice location and one real sit-down restaurant on the way. The park is supposed to become a full-day park by the end of 2008, and a part of keeping people in the park is making sure there is a place for everyone to eat dinner. Sure the buffet will offer Breakfast and Lunch, but this is all part of a much bigger plan. Disney wants to make sure if people aren't going to sit and eat at Rainforest Cafe or the Yak and Yeti, then they need another dining choice, and one thing most of the other parks and some resorts offer that AK doesn't is character dining or a buffet. I personally like this change and love that I finally have some choice on where to sit and eat at AK, other than Pizzafari and Flame Tree Barbacue.

Nah, I don't think you're making too much of it. Character buffets have their place, but so do other options, and Animal Kingdom is already short on those other options as it is.
