Taking a look at the upcoming Christmas lights on Cinderella’s Castle

As strange is it may seem, the holiday season is not that far away, and the Mouse is planning on lighting up Cinderella’s Castle for the first time.  We reported back in July of this possibility, but now Disney has a “Backstage Pass” video on their website that shows just how amazing this is going to be.  (Here is the link, though you do have to register to watch.  The second icon on the bottom gets you to the one about the castle, but they are all worth watching.)

Cinderella’s Castle

I liked the idea from the minute I heard it, but the short glimpse you get in the video of the concept drawing looks even better that I imagined.  I envy those of you lucky enough to get to Disney World this holiday season.  Hopefully these lights will be a yearly event.

I always like when Disney makes things better and tries new things out. Certainly the idea sounds good. I just hope it doesn’t look too gaudy. My only issue was the girl in that video with her over the top fake enthusiasm. She makes Stacey seem comatose.

Well then you haven’t seen Stacey recently. I thought they were about on par. By the way, why does Disney feel the need to do this? Do they think that the amazing things theyput into their parks is not enough to get us excited that we need to watch someone act like a Muppet?

For those who care, I’ve been informed the girl in this video has done videos in the past for Disney, notably the video shown to new College Program kids.

In my unbiased opinion, having a Muppet host the video would be a vast improvement :)
