Haunted Manison re-opens to raves!
The Haunted Mansion has reopened, and to very good reviews. Improvements have been made across the board and the Mansion restored to the type of overwhelming and immersive experience Walt Disney Imagineering has made their name on.
I have not yet been to the Mansion, and won’t until late October. But perhaps the most fair and respected opinion on the internet is that of John Frost from the Disney Blog. Take a look at his review. Here is how he sums it up…
So here we are. The purse strings have been loosened just a bit at the Magic Kingdom. They didn’t have to do this upgrade, but they did and they have done some marvelous work. I think the new Haunted Mansion will be very warmly received by nearly everyone who rides it. If just for the wow factor.
Now I can’t say for certain until I see it myself, but if the new version of the Haunted Mansion is as good as being reported, this just continues a terrific Imagineering hot streak we are smack dab in the middle of, a streak that contains refurbs, new shows, and blockbuster e-tickets.
We urge you to discuss this more and leave your comment below, or feel free to come over to the Disney News Network Forums where we discuss this and many other topics in the Mouse Extra Forums.

All accounts are that they have done a very good job on this, so kudos to them!
But let’s not take TOO big a swig of the kool-aid… There’s hardly universal agreement that everything that has happened lately is terrific
If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were baiting me….

Baiting you?? No, I just think at WDW they are on a hotstreak. Everything they have done recently has met with my approval, as opposed to a few years back

Fair enough. I was kidding about the baiting. I know you’re being sincere.
I’m not sure how far back we are going, but the Laugh Floor just stands out as something very recent that is clearly still struggling to find it’s groove. And I know we disagree on the relative merits of some of the other recent stuff, like Finding Nemo and Finding Donald.

It will be interesting to see if this streak continues to the revamp of Spaceship Earth and the new Toy Story Mania. I would imagine there is quite a lot riding on the success of these two attractions (certainly moreso than the Mansion). I truly think the Studios needs TSM to be a gate-buster.

Well, SSE is not going to be everything we expect it to be, and certainly not as successful as the Haunted Mansion’s fixing. Toy Story Mania is going to be a huge success and will bring life back to the studios. I promise! LOL

^We’ll see. Besides, I bet SSE is gonna be great when it returns.
Getting back on topic, I must also agree that the updated Haunted Mansion is TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

I have been on the Haunted Mansion twice while here on vacation and I must say that it was noticeably improved on my part. Even the scenes that didn’t get changes seem cleaned up and improved
