Well, everything was limited. A lot of the people who were there at least on October 1st didn't get anything. I will come half way with you, I think there should have at least been more of the limited stuff made, not only 1,982 pieces.

Tom, first of all the items pictured all say "Epcot Center" which means they are retro, not to mention the obvios restro design.

And if you were there on Oct 1 you got all thos thing. I was there less then three weeks later and nothing can be find but this nonsense?? Pathetic

Merchandise was most certainly not overlooked. I found myself with 13 pins, a t-shirt, a watch, the Figment plush, and the free souvenirs such as the maps and buttons. Thats a lot. The stuff that you pictured is much older than the anniversary, it was realeased in January 2007. The black shirt and hat aren't even retro, they feature the past and CURRENT logo of Epcot, that can now be seen in that flower bed and on the new gates near the parks entrance.

"So, am I missing something? Why would they release a barrage of pins as the only merchandise offered for this event? Was their more offered during the actual day that I am not aware of?"

Actually yes, there was more released that day. There was the 25th anniversary tee shirt, with a limited edition release of 1,982 shirts. There was also a 25th anniversary watch, which I believe was a limited release of 350. And then there was the special Figment plush, where he was dressed similarly to the Dreamfinder, with the original Epcot logos printed on his jacket. This was a limited edition of 1,200.

I agree with you, though. They really should offer more 25th anniversary merchandise, and make it available throughout the year.

I'm guessing that due to the hurried nature of the public celebration, mechandise was overlooked. It seemed that the execs were caught off-guard by the fervor of the Diztapo and rushed to put something together for the anniversary day celebration, without thinking past that day.
