I wish Disney would hire me to help. I am a graphic designer and published creative professional. My opinions on Epcot are very unique. i do not think that world showcase needs any kind of billion dollar new ride or over the top exhibit. My idea to renew World showcase is so simple. it just consists of some new and well place decorations. They would make the pavilions more interesting, indirectly update them and add a sense of pizaz and sophistication. I know Epcot center well. I was there on day one when it opened and I have followed Epcot over the years. I have also studied the life of Walter Disney and I hold true to the original passion of Epcot. That place needs relevancy. It needs to offer a sense of clear direction for humanity and invest in the value of inspiration. The new world of telecommunications has changed things but it has not erased Epcot's mission or its significance. In my head exists a plan that would make everyone happy and bring Epcot into the fold. Again, it does not consist of billion dollar make overs. I am about sophistication and the old Epcot center way. I am about creating things to elevate guest and not preach or intimidate them. There is a way to do these things but Walt Disney Company needs to invest in artists more rather than MBA's and those who approach the situation from a marketing standpoint. I have a background in advertising too. And understand the bottomline. But there is a way to make things function without making it apparent that it is for the bottom line.

(For Disney) When you lot are ready for some new ideas email me. I am open to showing you some of my sketches for World Showcase and inexpensive design concepts. There is no greater honor for me than to contribute to your great company and to the Dream of EPCOT Center. There is a bright future ahead!

If you look in Google Earth, you can see that the World Showcase has room for a couple more pavilions, both small & large.

When I was at Epcot for the first time, and was asking a cast member how to get somewhere -- I actually referred to the outpost -- http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&sll=28.410067,-81.583699&sspn=0.199907,0.300751&ie=UTF8&ll=28.368928,-81.54638&spn=0.001562,0.00235&t=h&z=19 -- (on accident) as Brazil. The Cast Member was great -- they looked at me a little sideways, but pointed me in that general direction.

I don't know if a country really gets the value out of a pavilion as they used to. Remember Epcot is old, and at the time of its inception, the ability to reach so many people was more rare. Today a country can talk directly to their foreign tourists via the internet. I really doubt that World Showcase is as a powerful tool for tourism as it once was.

Pavilions are funded by their home countries. Almost all attractions in Epcot have a co-sponsor. This has been built into the development of the park. In order to add Brazil, there would have to be some official interest by the nation itself.

I have been wanting a Brazilian Pavillion for years. I think it could become an instant hit if added. The second pavillion is a little tougher to choose. A Russian Pavillion is good, but I think an Indian Pavillion would be great, but may not fare as well.
