I went down in September 2009 and my departing flight was (unknowingly) changed from Sunday, Sept 20 to Saturday, Sept 19. About a month before I went on the AirTran website to check rates and noticed our flight was not listed. I called them and found they had changed the day and the rep. claimed I should have been notified. I did not have any emails from them besides the confirmation I got when first booking, no voice mail, no letter, etc. I was glad to get a bonus day at Disney, but since I was renting DVC points, I had to jump through a few hoops to get that extra night in the same location, luckily there was still availability.

I had a phenomenally irritating return from WDW last time too. I’ll spare you the gory/boring details, but the high point was getting a text message at midnight, in my distressed-passenger-rate hotel room at Dulles, letting me know that my 3:45PM United Airlines flight the next day was canceled, and I’d been rebooked on a 7AM flight instead. Good thing I was awake and checking my text messages at midnight, or we wouldn’t have known we had to be on the 5AM airport/hotel shuttle that morning, less than 5 hours away.

Ugh, that stinks. I would have been very upset as well. We always try to do the same thing: arrive early, depart late. Having to leave that early makes that last night resort stay meaningless.
